Muddy lawn
Right - I've taken the plunge and had my 50 strong (120ft) row of conifers taken out over the last week. Really pleased with the job. However, parts of my lawn now look a mud pit from where the workmen have been walking to and from the skips. Any advice? Its currently covered in snow also!

Our grass, can't call it a lawn, has alternatively been either waterlogged or frozen for weeks. It looks beyond repair, though I guess with the warmer weather it will recover.

Not a lot you can do till the snow clears. Then, as has been suggested, aerate it with a fork, and then use grass seed in the spring.

I think we'll have to reseed the grass, it is a muddy bog still, specially where I walk on it to feed the birds.

Hi wiffyboy
We have the same issue here with a messy, waterlogged lawn. I think it is the continual wet weather that has caused the current problems. The large Gum Tree (growing in the back garden area) adds to some of the problems. I think that the Gum tree produces some type of 'gunk' that lands on the grass and stunts the growth so the lawn looks bald in places. The snow has covered a lot of the recent ill's with the lawn. So some reseeding will be the order of the day once the weather is slightly better in the next month or so. Regards Kathy x
