Beetles and worms and worms and beetles

(complaining on) Last year it was the fire ants and this year we have an explosion of Japanese and Chinese Beetles (aka June bugs), worms of all sorts, and grasshoppers. I picked a big fat brown worm off my tomato plant. It devoured my okra pods and one of my green tomatoes. We are just hand picking the beetles because the beetle traps draw more of them to eat the garden and spraying does no good. Anyone have any better ideas than hand picking and squishing? I hate some bugs. Ew. (complaining off)
Many Blessings,

Sounds nasty, BT. No suggestions, I am afraid. Hope you can find a solution.

Where flowers bloom so does hope.

I don't have a solution for Japanese beetles. I have them for the first time this year. I don't even have any grass for the grubs to grow in. Don't know how they discovered my little patch of heaven. I think they are in someone else's lawn(the grubs). If you find a good solution please share.
