Hi Sue, it's a small picture so a little difficult to see. Did you buy it as an outdoor or indoor plant?

Ok, it looks as if it could be a Mandevilla of some sort.

I bought the plant as a camellia, it’s about 12 inch high. The flowers are yet to open.

Hi Sue, I wouldn't visit that plant centre again if they can't tell the difference between a Camellia and a Mandevilla. Unfortunately they are tender and would unlikely survive outside through the winter unless if you were in the south west where it might have half a chance. See link below for more info:

Hello Sue, I have to agree with Dave regarding your plant definitely not a Cameilla...I was sold mine at a garden centre supposed to be another plant till a friend came around and identified it for me having several himself
