Strawberry Season has Started

Was wandering thru the vege garden this afternoon, just having a look.

When I checked the strawberry bed, noticed that there was a heap of strawberries that had formed and a few that had actually ripened.

There are 2 varieties in the bed - Cambridge Rival and Alinta. Last year they starting producing fruit in December and went through to Autumn.

I'm surprised that the birds haven't got at the ripe ones - it will be too late tomorrow as the net will be going over the hoops first thing in the morning.

Nothing beats the taste of a freshly picked strawberry. Hope you enjoy them, Peter.

Where flowers bloom so does hope.
