Hi Peewit,
thanks for your comments. Although the garden has involved a lot of hard work, I've enjoyed it and I have the time to spend in it - lucky that I'm retired. Actually, most of the plants have grown really well, only a few have had to be replaced. In fact, I'm getting to the stage where I'm starting to remove some plants to make room for others - may have to build a few more garden beds!! cheers Peter Last edited by PeterG; Tuesday 24th May 2016 at 06:33. |

Hi Kits,
at one stage, I was thinking of having the fence made of new timber. Very glad that I was able to get this old rustic timber as it looks like it has been there for decades - and really improves the surrounding area. Actually, just received the bill from the plumbers - suppose that I can't complain as the timber cost me nothing. Before I start on the benches, I'll have to find someone with a chainsaw as the posts are about 30cm thick and they need to cut into several pieces - not keen on doing the cutting with a little hand-saw. cheers Peter |

Oh no - a new fence wouldn't have looked any where near as good, Peter. I like the rustic charm of your fence. Good luck with finding a chainsaw - I wouldn't fancy trying to hand saw wood which is 30cm thick! Could you maybe hire one?
