What is this plant?

A tall bush growing near a fence with strange fruits. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Gardener's Forum 21bRim from Admin and the Moderators.

The fruits look almost pear like, don't they? I am sure that Dave, one of our posters, will be able to help as his knowledge is extensive.

Hi, I'm wondering if it might be a quince of some sort.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply. It seems to be in that family. The fruits are really oddly shaped and small though. Could it be diseased?

I certainly think that this is not normal. Fruits seem early also, perhaps still to grow a bit more. Be good if you can keep your eye on it and take a few pictures later next month and post them on here.
