Push vegetable planter

The lady next door had her work shed taken down and gave me a bunch of flower pots & things she no longer used. One of the items was a old push planter for vegetable seeds you push in a garden to plant seeds. Her late husband used it back in the early 1970ís. I cleaned it up & tried it, I replaced the plastic disk inside the hopper to a "corn disk".. I filled the hopper with field corn and pushed it over the ground, turned around & it dropped a piece of corn about every foot. If you hold down the planter it drops the piece of corn one at a time & then turns the dirt over covering each piece.. It's old... anyone seen anything like this before?

There are different plastic disks for different types of vegetable seeds, the spacing are all different, the planter is belt driven.

Looks amazing Richard, what a find! I haven't seen one of those before. I've seen similar things, but not exactly like that, from the 70s.

Thanks JP on both Posts, I was surprised the planter worked after all those years in her shed. It's made of heavy hard plastic.

That is a very useful thing to have, Richard. It looks good for it's age too.
