I think the closest thing we have is a porcupine, maybe, but those don't live in Alabama. I wish we had hedgehogs. Cute and helpful are good qualities to have!!!

Our very expensive Water Lily has actually flowered after 2 years.
Note the baby Pond Skater to the left of the flower.
I think this is either Mum Or Dad.

Skunks are back - I see evidence of them around the shed - I think they are nesting underneath it again. They trample down the sweet woodroof and the ferns, like they are rolling around in it. Then digging down around the edge.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of them?

You could Goole that, Susan. I can't help as we don't have skunks in Britian.

Put up a NO SKUNKS ALLOWED sign?

Sorry, Susan. I don't know. I imagine that it might be the same way as people here stop badgers living under sheds. I know my sister had a lot of trouble a few years back, but I cannot remember what she did, apart from putting up lots of barriers.

Good luck!

Signs! Why didn't I think of that.... I like that Kits! May try it...
I've sprayed a bathroom cleaner that has bleach in it around the entry hole, to see if the strong smell will keep them away.
I know all the stuff piled up around the back and side of the shed doesn't help, so will have to clear it away as well.

A wildlife garden is an environment that is attractive to various forms of wildlife such as birds, amphibians, reptiles, insects, mammals and so on.
